Honeymoon

What a wonderful ball of creeptastic madness! My lovely horror fanatics, if you have a weak stomach, please don’t watch Honeymoon (2015). This movie pushes the rule, don’t talk to strangers. However, the main woman, Isabel is so dumb that she basically kidnaps herself!

This movie is about a man who kidnaps a woman and forces her to marry him, so romantic! His twisted, and I do mean TWISTED, characteristics will make your stomach turn and you will spend most of the time wondering how in the hell he thinks of doing these things to a woman he pretended to marry. What’s worse is, this bastard is her neighbor… yeah, that’s right everyone, now you have another thing to fear, your flipping neighbors.

Isabel is a jogger and every day, at the same time, she jogs around the neighborhood greeting those she sees, including the man who lives across the street from her, Jorge. At first, he just seems like a sweet guy with a massive crush but he quickly begins dishing out some creepy for us little by little. During his stalking phase, he notices that she is not only a better jogger than him but she has a man. He then decides to escalate matters by basically just asking her to climb in his van to help find his lost puppy and then boom, kidnapped. Not only is Isabel just a dumb person in general but she is a terrible kidnap victim. Let’s be honest here, if I was in her shoes, I would probably be just as dumb, but damn girl, we have all learned to friend our abductor to trick our way out! This woman went days without food, Jorge cooked a meal for her (what a sweetheart!), she took one bite and loved it, she then spits the second bite of food in his face, and then asked for more food. Sweetie, you just burned that bridge, no more food for you! Jorge spends the whole movie showing how easy he can be manipulated by her and she just doesn’t catch on that she could use that to her advantage.

Overall, this was a kick ass movie that will make you think twice about that neighbor who watches you and waves while they water their grass. Watch this movie!
