You know when you were a kid and your parents would say things like, “Ignore the bullies! Just hang out with kids who are more like you!” and you would say, “But there’s no one else like me! I’m different!” Sure, we were wrong, and soon after we found others who were like us, but in Lucy’s case, she could say that with confidence, there is no other kid quite like her.

Okay, so I want to be very honest, this was not a movie I was planning on watching and definitely not a movie I was planning on reviewing, but I just happened to watch it tonight and I couldn’t let it go, so here we are! Heads up warning, this movie does not have a bunch of blood and gore but there are scenes that I think could trigger someone with epilepsy or someone who has claustrophobia.

“Why’d we come all the way out here?” Liliana asked as she peered into the darkness surrounding the old pickup.

Marcus palmed the keys. The door of the rusty red dodge let out a loud crack as he climbed out.

Liliana whipped her head towards him, “Wait- Where are you going?”

“You wanted a Christmas tree, didn’t you?” He stood in the doorway, only a silhouette to her as the truck’s interior light had been broken for years.
