The Curse of La Llorona

Movie Review by Siobahn Harris

“She wants your children”… just not enough to actually take them when she has the chance. The Curse of La Llorona is another movie that I was pretty pumped to see. I really love a good ghost story and it’s no secret that I’m a believer in the spirit world. Therefore, any ghost story already has a good chance to scare the shit out of me, but not so much here.

Movie Review: Between the Darkness

Between The Darkness

Movie Review by Siobahn Harris

To be honest, when I first watched the trailer for Between the Darkness, I was concerned. I thought it would end up being a horror movie whose fear based solely on the idea of a antagonist. You know what I’m talking about, right? The kind of film that ends with there being no villain, just the protagonist’s inner demons. Thankfully, I was so incredibly wrong. The synopsis had me hooked. “When two day laborers are picked up for work, they quickly realize that their new employer may be hiding a deadly secret”. This had me guessing what could happen in this film. I thought of all sorts of ideas, but never once did I guess what actually happened.

Lucy's Tale
Lucy's Tale clip

You know when you were a kid and your parents would say things like, “Ignore the bullies! Just hang out with kids who are more like you!” and you would say, “But there’s no one else like me! I’m different!” Sure, we were wrong, and soon after we found others who were like us, but in Lucy’s case, she could say that with confidence, there is no other kid quite like her.
